Posted 10 February 2018 - 04:57 AM Enjoy!!
This circuit is near the beach town of Piriapolis in Uruguay. In November of 1974 I went with a friend (who I'm still frequenting) from here, Buenos Aires, we went to spend a few days at the Uruguayan coast, and we stayed there for a few days. We already knew that on the outskirts of the city there were the ruins of an old circuit where Fangio had run in the 50s, among other pilots. So the first thing we did was rent a couple of motorcycles and went to the remains of the circuit. Obviously he was Punta Fría, the only thing we found was the tarmac track, which had deteriorated over the years. We run a couple of laps at the maximum speed that those small and deteriorated motorcycles allowed us, until in a jump I lost control and fell to the ground (tarmac) wearing only swimming pants !! I spent the rest of the holidays (that was the 2nd day) bandaged, so for me only on TV the motorcycles.
At least I will not hurt myself using GPL !!!

Thanks Claudio :)

Motorcycling + swimming pants  My dad never wore a helmet on his Norton back in the 50s/60s. How times have changed...
