Sorry Tom. I couldn't host this as we had a huge power outage here. Everything is back to normal for me hosting on Wednesday and Friday.

All day, I wondered, 'Where the heck is Bob Simpson?'.  Only after his post above did the light bulb go on.  So sorry to learn that you were a DNE thanks to the storms, Bob.  I saw video on the CBC as it tore through the Ottawa area.  A major scare.  Hope that you and yours are OK.
Our neighbourhood just had a lot of wind and small branches down but the local power grid was smashed so it’ll be a few more days til we have power back.

The evening before our race, in Ottawa we had some tornados which caused power outages that are expected to last a few days. Oh well. C’est la vie.

Thanks Donnie, no one knows for sure yet how bad it may be for each area. I believe RJ moved to another state.

Who is "RJ"?

Watching that part of the race on lap 29, I don’t see any problems. But it seems that Busch felt that the passes were too hurried. Both the lead cars passed cleanly as far as I can see, although chances are always taken with any pass.

I always feel that the lapping cars encounter the same traffic as those ahead or behind and the same goes for those being passed. It’s disruptive for everyone – just part of the game. In fact Busch gained one second on Michiels on that lap, possibly due to Michiels having to slow a little more. Chapman lost three seconds due to passing Michiels at an awkward spot. Often it’s all the other way around but it usually averages out.

Perhaps I’m wrong, but I think that the cars being lapped are required to yield by definition/rule despite the battles that they’re engaged in. Of course they don’t have to jam the brakes on and the lapping cars have to have some patience. We all have to be cooperative but since (as I saw it in the replay) nothing dangerous happened I don’t see why there would be any complaints in this instance.
