Not to steal Stu's thunder (his setups are probably better than mine anyway), but I've updated GPL Addicts several times the last couple of weeks. I have setups and replays for all cars at Mexico, Monaco, Zandvoort, Watkins Glen, Nurburgring and Spa on my page (link in sig). There are also Reims setups and replays for the 3 liters. I hope to finish Reims, Brands Hatch and monza in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Maybe they'll help some of you, at least with gearing if nothing else. I did many of them kind of quickly so they may suck. Use at your own risk. :D

 Thanks, Steve. Your setups have been very helpful. I hope to see you use them to good effect on track soon.

Does anyone have a working link to Roland Ehnstrom setups?  Every one I try seems to be broken.  I have read they are good base setups.

Cheers guys.

I cannot at the moment download setups from ATD because of a javascript problem.

Can someone post some me setups for crystal palace for the upcoming mod65 races, I have not raced for 1 minute at CP so I am open to suggestions of best cars for this track.

Any replays to go with the setups would be a help.

Now you may ask how am I off for jocks & socks also after all these requests  LOL

Cheers

Here ya go, Dennis. Let me know if this doesn't work. As for recommendations, all the chassis are are pretty fun. The BT-7 and Cooper are a little down on power but handle incredibly. Try 'em all! :)

Thanks Jim

The BT7 seems to be the way to go at present.

The best time to date is 57.19 so there is a long way to go, so practice practice practice.

This track is going to be pretty tight on race night though, not many overtaking areas....  lol

Put some new sparkle in your favorite Can Am cars.

ATTENTION: SETUPS NOT FOR ALIENS!

The file included with this post contains setups for the Can Am '71 mod, created by John Roberts and tested by me. John provided the default setups for the Sportscar mod and the F2 mod that so many are currently enjoying. These Can Am setups are not designed for aliens. If you've felt like there's more performance available for the CanAm 71 mod cars but weren't sure how to get it, you might want to take a look at these.

They've improved my lap times and enjoyment immensely, knocking 1.5 to 4 seconds off laps at Silverstone and Spa compared to the defaults. Testing was done at Silverstone and Spa since those tracks offer a good challenge to stability, reward pushing a little harder, and have a good mix of corners in both directions at varying speeds. Besides everyone knows them. These setups will be an improvement at every track, with just some adjustments to the gear ratios.

The setups are mostly symmetrical and have short race fuel levels. You'll probably want to keep the steering ratio high (20:1) for the Can Ams or adjust to your usual specs. Asymmetrical setups, esp. at Silverstone, helped me avoid some high tire temperatures on the inside front tire. Some of the cars seemed to need a little more than others. You may not find this necessary and can easily revert these to the symmetrical settings from the default setups. The key settings that you want to keep here are in the spring rates, roll bar rates, and wing. Everything else is the same as the defaults except where changes were made for asymmetry.

As per usual, Mr. Roberts respectfully declines to make Ferrari setups.

John has made setups for the 66 mod here:
http://srmz.net/inde...?showtopic=7722
and setups for the GT mod available here:
http://srmz.net/inde...208
As stated elsewhere in this post, the default setups for the F2 mod are his, as well as the default setups for the GTs.

Please pass your appreciation along to John Roberts.

These setups are available at Sim Racing Mirror Zone > Grand Prix Legends > Grand Prix Legends Files > GPL-Setups/Replays > Can Am 71 Mod Setups John Roberts

Enjoy!

Jim
