Just wondering what you guys all listen to?
I've always been into Prog Rock, Blues, R&B (Real R&B not the stuff passed off as R&B today). But I like just about everything, although I find it hard to like English Folk music and I've always thought Music is like a bar of chocolate, "1st you have to get rid of the wrapper" (See what I did there).
I could post links to Bob Segar, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Janis Joplin, Deep Purple etc but we have all heard them before so here's a few of the more esoteric groups I follow outside of my normal listening Genre.
Scott Bradlee's Post Modern Jukebox
A cover band with a difference. Scott Bradlee is a hugely talented musician and arranger. PMJ play well known songs in a totally different style. An ever changing line up of musicians and singers.
They are on a world tour at the moment and I hope to be off to see them in November this year in London UK.
Worth noting all songs are done in a single take.
All About that Bass - Meghan Trainor cover (What's not to like).
Ozzie Osbourne and Motown is not a phrase which you hear very often but...
Crazy Train - Motown - Ozzie Osbourne Cover. (Now I actually know the words after all these years).
I want you to want me - Blues - Cheap Trick cover (So much better than the original and "Snuffy Walden" on guitar is a legend, Oh and I'm in love with Sara Niemietz)
Love Yourself - Vintage 20's - Justin Bieber Cover (Yes I know Justin Bieber, sheesh I can't admit I like a Bieber song).
Burn - Vintage 60s Girl Group - Ellie Goulding Cover
Creep - Vintage - Radiohead Cover
Sweet Child of Mine - New Orleans Blues - GnR cover Ok, I'm in love with Sarah Reich on Tap as well.
The Final Countdown - Vintage Cabaret - Europe cover. Gunhild Carling can get a tune out of anything, Trombone, Trumpet, Harmonica, Flute, Bagpipes, In fact probably anything she can wrap her lips around. (Now I need a lie down).. She can probably do your tax return and fix your Harley as well. Amazing performer.
Old Town Road - Blues - Billy Ray Cyrus Cover
Ok, Enough PMJ Sorry got carried away.
Dead South. Been following these for a few years and always thought they were from Texas, it seems they are Canadians. Oh well.
They are touring and coming to my local city so hopefully off to see these as well.
Catchy tune but the lyrics are disturbing to say the least.
And Finally because I just can't escape my metal roots...
Scottish Band. Not sure what Genre they are "Pirate Rock?? Not vey PC at all, Don't take themselves too seriously. I luv em
So like I said, I have varied tastes.
Plenty to ridicule and laugh at.
Anyway, What do you guys listen to? It can't be anymore weird than Alestorm.
