That, my friend, is what we call a "west country" accent. There are loads of accents packed into our little country - some you wouldn't even understand what they're saying!

My dad is from boro, with family scattered Tees to Tyne. His brothers had the accent but he was too young when they left and so we were spared.  But lots of Geordie talkers in the mix when you look north. Growing up I never knew my grandmother had much of the (Cleveland?) accent but with time even I notice it now when watching TV/youtube. I do wonder how present and future communications technology will affect regional tongues within the same language. There is still a very noticeable divide where I live between rural WA state and urban British Columbia and they directly butt up against one other.

I can tell the accent difference in the town less than 10 miles from where I live!  I think it's called "Shelbyville"... :P
