Please please please, make sure you understand the rules, and make sure you practice your starts. The rules have been optimized to punish those who are too aggressive, but they apply to everyone. Season 6 will not tolerate drivers that continue to abuse and ruin other drivers races.

We all put alot of time and preperation into these races, let's begin to race with some responsibility and respect to our fellow league members.

Jonathan yes u can run the no rear wing its also  Arrows A2 but the MK1 :)

Heres the deal Jonathan if you and Steve think the Wolf, Renault RS12/RS11 with Boost 4 is more fun to drive be my guest and test it. I find the wolf to be a few tenths slower then Arrows A2.

For Group B it was a pain to decide either Arrows A2, Wolf, Renault RS12/RS11 with Boost 4. Thats why i asked u guys to test

Mid Ohio times Projected Pole time 1.16.0 1/6 & 2/8 wing
Arrows A2 1.16.20
Wolf 1.16.31

Limited to Boost 4 8/12 wing
Renault RS12 1.15.83
Renault RS11 1.16.25

Mosport Projected Pole time 1.09.0 my PB's
Arrows A2 1.09.38
Wolf 1.09.42

Wolf u probably need diff 10/10/1 with wings 2/4 casters 3.5 or so to make it turn :P

Renaults i tell u later today.

Go out and test and tell me your times.

Well Dom's response was a lot deeper than mine was gonna be hehehe. Here's what i was gonna say...

Jon, if you weren't so damn quick last season, you'd be in a better car, but fact is, your fast enough to make that car work in relation to what we all have. I thought the Arrows was a great car myself, and another tip is to raise the caster, it helped me getting it to turn bigtime.

The chance of getting something else in a draft situation might not of been any different, you would've been slotted to pick near last in your group anyway dude. If the Wolf works for ya, we could have you and someone else in that car.

Let's not panick !!!

Everyone remain calm !!

Nothing to see here !!

Ok, we did some more testing tonight, and the primary goal was to try and eliminate all the McLaren teams. I know some of you had your heart set on painting the cars hehe, but I'm afraid you won't need too.

After lapping in the M28A until I got a good time, perhaps not a PB, but it was a good time - 1:09.4XX. I decided to start experimenting a little to see what options we had. I could get the Alfa down to 1:09.5XX, so the M28A guy's will be switching to Alfa.

The M28B team will remain in that car.

The M28D fellows, can switch over to the Brabham BT49 Front Wing, Alfa Engine. Daniel, I know you might not be happy with this, so if you guy's are dead set against it, stay in the M28D, both cars are so close in pace from what i can tell. But since you drove it last season, I can see how someone would want a change.

The Arrows team will remain in the Arrows, sorry Jonathan, it just works out best this way.

Tyrrell will remain in Tyrrell.

The Lotus 80MK2 team will have the option to go to Renault RS12, with turbo set at 4. This tweak allows us to use the Renault without it being way too fast compared to the others. But, this is an option. Your team will have to decide amongst yourselves.

If the Group B Lotus crew go with the Renault, the group C Lotus team can use any model Lotus they wish. If not, the Group C Lotus crew will have to remain in the 79, or the 80MK1, the 80MK2 will not be available for that team.

That's it for now.

Sorry for the early changes, but we're trying to do the best for the league, hope you understand guy's.

No such animal.
The BT49 is not Alfa engined, it is Ford Cosworth power
The BT48 "with front wing" is Alfa engined.

So.... Did you mean the 48 or did you mean the 49 Cossie?

Tdoggie, your pace has been tremendous on the last season. And also, on each season you manage to be faster than the previous one. I don't want to know how fast you will become on season 6! :P

A remainder to CA: test the Alfa on Mid Ohio, or Jarama. The italian dog is bigger and fatter than the Renault, it suffers a lot on medium/slow tracks. On Mosport and other fast tracks, it has the advantage of it's magnificent power, on slower tracks it doesn't.

BT48 it's completely another kind of car.
It's heavier than the BT49 and has inferior GE because of the V12 width (less suitable to put wind tunnels around it).
On the other hand, it's faster on straights.

It "should" be a bit faster than M28A and has similar performance to M28D.

The hardest thing about BT48 is to master the narrow power range of the V12, so it depends on driving style and a proper gearing, some drivers will find it easy to get to grips with it, some will struggle.

I like the challenge of harnessing the V12 power, It will be very rewarding to take it to the points.

Hi Guys,

is re 12 with boost 4 still faster in strait line then cosworth or v12 cars? Renault has some other disadvantages so strait line speed seems to be a key to get a good result out of it. I think that renault comes by default boost 6 in the mode. Just looking for a small aid for my team mates and me in decision process. Tending to renault just for sake of reducing quantity of lotuses in the field but do not want to end up with a car that would be even slower than MK2 (I am 2.5 sec behing my PB in Spa and B Hatch with MK2).
BT 49 guys could drive with Blue / white skin that is anyways more common for that car as it it was raced so in 1980-1982 (until switch to BT 50).

One of the Brabham teams can use the blue/white skin at RFC site if you like.

We need to specify

Daniel team
Brabham BT48 Front Wing only

Dales team
Lotus 80MK2 only or Renault RS12 with boost 4 only.

Lotus Team
Lotus 79 car only

Brabham Team only BT49 Chassis

Renault RS12 is faster on low wing tracks only compared to cosworth for medium wing tracks with boost 4 its even. So we only see advantage at say LeMans probably 10kph advantage.
I post my Renault RS12 setup with boost 4. Then see what i can with BT48.

I did 1.08.64 with Boost 4 im guessing with Lotus 80 Mk2 i can do about the same time.

I did 1.08.1 with boost 8, so your not actually crawling Adnan :P In fact for the races u probably save 10-15% on fuel with the lower boost

Ya, I understood this last night, that testing at Mosport is just that, testing at Mosport and other tracks may not be as favourable. But I would love the challenge, regardless. Don't know about Larry or Kevin though hehe, but I think Larry loves a good battle as well.

We'll see how it goes leading up to Mosport, and I'll test a couple other tracks as well.
