He was my favorite driver when I was a child.

When one of the planes from his airline crashed because a thrust reverser deployed on only one engine in flight causing the plane to spiral into a jungle in Aisa killing all aboard, Nikki personally went to the crash site which was very difficult to get to. He personally called every family. He personally ran the scenario on flight simulators to see if it could have been avoided. He concluded it was not possible to save the plane. I've never seen another airline CEO do that.

I saw him in the Detroit GP in June 1984. A corner worker was waving a blue flag at him at one point. It hurt to watch something like that, knowing the heights he had scaled.

A terrible loss. He was as brave as they come. After 40 years, the "accident" finally got him.  I was sad to read of his passing.

One of my favo drivers as well. Technically very adept, he was awesome setting up a car, with a very smooth driving style. Very intelligent driver.

Thank you Niki, for your life, and for your being such an authentic and courageous human being. As tough as they get. Ruhe im Frieden Niki!
