Thanks.  Is it just me, or is there a lot of background hiss?

Congrats John. What a way to win out the season. You win when you shouldn't, you win when you should and you win when we've all stopped paying attention. Your consistent speed was eye opening.

Best,

Andrew

Hi guys !!
I had fun racing again yesterday and did better than I thought I would. I tried to stay out of the way of leaders when they were lapping me. No problem with getting bumped a few times by others. Good to see that it didn't damage their car or mine. I'm doing some hot lapping at Nassau to learn the track better.
I'm looking forward to next season and I'm going to try and make some VOR & LoPeN races too !!

Hi Richard, great to have you along. You were most courteous on track. See you at Nassau. :)

Thanks Andrew, Rob,
It hasn't been the walk in the park it sometimes appeared. As you say I won when I shouldn't have, Mick gifted me Interlagos when he had time to stop for a beer and Bob S and me both tried to give each other Road America.

A major contributing factor has been the support from the team. Even when I had a lean patch mid season and I threw our Ferrari at the scenery a few times resulting in 1 total loss.  They kept faith. Michael takes his TL role very seriously and without his track story boards and baseline set up's I would not be where I am today. I've learned such a lot this year. A huge thanks to them for the support.

The past two weeks have been tough but fun with respect to real life. A new dog in the house who wouldn’t eat, then would, my wife’s parents needing lots of care and then a flat tire in our van that needed picking up on Saturday morning.  I was lucky to arrive at my race rig 15 minutes before the end of qualifying. I put in a decent laptime and my aim was just to survive the race (damned tires at the apexes!) and finish OK with no damage.

I lined up in 8th place on the grid. At the drop of the flag, I passed Tomy and settled in behind Higdon, Bo and Navonne in P4, P5, P6 ahead.

I got past Navonne after he went wide in Turn 1, then was surprised that Higdon let me by on lap 6. Bo must have made a mistake and I got past him on lap 9 or 10. From there on I had enough pace to distance myself from the guys behind, but not enough to close on the guys ahead.

It was just steady on from then to the end to end up in 4th, a great result considering my expectations.

Congrats to Hammonds, Oud and Chapman.

Yes, That's the secret, ;) It's only a corner if you have to brake for it. Alternativley.. Only bother with two thirds of the corners at any given track. ;) But seriously is that a corner? I know it's technically a Tri Oval but...

What? you don't bother with one third of the corners? That explains why you're faster - you've found shortcuts! <g>

Good discussion on setups, I really don't know much about that.

For this race I didn't have much time to practice (again), so I just used the setup I had for Nassau. After practicing for about 2 hours I noticed my pace was not so bad compared to D1, which surprised me. But I was more surprised to be in pole until the very last minute in qualifying. You should look at the finish of John's lap which gave him pole, I was screaming in front of my screen when the time showed 0,1 sec faster. He crashed into someone else when passing the finish line!
I think I might have been in Roberto's path in the beginning of qualifying, hope it didn't cause any damage, I used a later braking point before the turn where we made contact, tried everything I could to avoid contact...
Had a pretty good start but after a few laps had Mick really close behind me and was driving defensive lines sacrificing pace to keep my position. With so many laps to go I was sure I was going to loose the position. I think Mick had a bit more bad luck then me when passing lapped cars, eventually I ended up with a comfortable gap. John was far behind the horizon at that time already. Did have some trouble passing Kayo, don't know if he noticed me behind him but it took me a few laps to find a gap. Felt like I was fighting for a position.
Really surprised with the result of this race, but it feels good after a season with quite a bit of bad luck (engines in the last few laps, screen freezes etc).

I won't be able to participate coming Saturday, family stuff.....

Thanks everyone for a great season again. Can't wait for the next one. Congrats to John, no match for the rest of us.
