I have a graphics problem that appears to be unique to me. I'm getting strange objects and colors in the sky that appear to be incompletely resolved parallelograms and draw objects. I attach representative screenshots below.

I've used tested and clean track files provided by John Hammonds and Bo, but my computer still produces these strange results. I'm using W10 on a relatively new Dell Alienware desktop, a year-old 34" curved monitor, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card. I've attempted to adjust the graphics options in the game to no avail. I have it set at OpenGLv2. Any assistance here will be deeply appreciated.

It's kind of artsy though.

I think I fixed the issue. On the Options/Graphics page there's a setting for "Objects textures" (along with a dozen other things that you can select/deselect both ahead of the car and in the mirrors. I unselected the "Objects textures" ahead of the car and began a lap. I noticed that there some blue lines appeared to be painted across the track and in some corners some red/white triangles had appeared. But the large parallelograms and draw objects in the sky had disappeared. I then went back to the options/graphics page, reselected the "Objects textures" check box, returned to the track, and was happy to see that the track now appeared to be perfectly normal in all respects.

Not.a.clue.  :)

I am told that's what the track actually looks like.

It's probably just a late sixties, early seventies flashback.  I think I was at the Glen one year when I saw something like that. ;-)

I take it it is track specific? What about other tracks of similar graphic standard?

I never saw any of the odd parallelograms/draw objects at any other track. What's oddest of all to me is that as soon as I went onto the track when I was at a computer in Florida a few days ago, I observed the unusual images. We came back to Maryland yesterday and I logged on to the computer that I usually use for on-line racing and saw the same strange formations. But, as I said, all I had to do apparently was to uncheck, then recheck the "Objects textures" box in the options/graphics page of GPL. Strange indeed.

the only time i ever saw anything close to this was back in rFactor (1) days... when i'd join a race with 25 others.. 24 i was ok, but once that was exceeded, the graphics card, (?) or ram at the time, just couldn't handle it ~

Tomy having the same issues, rules out a hardware failure for Pepe at least. My guess would be that the textures have an oddity about them that makes them show up wrong. Since Pepe fixed his, maybe Tomy would like to try installing a different horizon texture set for Clermont and see if that solves it.

Don't want to open the toolbox  ( I'm not a genius ) .  LSD sky doesn't disturb me . I look only at the road and at the RPM...  :wiggle:

i wonder if this might help some of  you?
https://www.techrada...ing-performance

specifically: The website singles out AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 XT, RX 570, RX 480 and R9 29 and Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 980 and the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti as being particularly prone to issues when Game Mode is on.

instructions on how to turn it off are in the article (simple!)

thanks for your help .

I have a intel pentium D CPU 3,00 GHz and a Nvidia Gforce GT 710 graphic card .  With windows7.

I have found more settings for the graphic card other than the 3 position cursor " quality<>merformance"  but I don't want to loose my time with
this very little problem ( the car driving is OK ) .

Some very strange goings on here.  Wish I could provide a solution, chaps.

To borrow and somewhat alter a quote from Tom Walkinshaw re Zolder...

"There's nothing wrong with Clermont that a bulldozer wouldn't fix."

We've run several times on this track, and we've never had any problems. Besides the circuit has more than 10 years of launch, I believe in my modest opinion any modern computer can handle it without problems. Mine is six years old and I have no problems.

Where are you in this picture? Clermont is build to be viewed from the main road only, with lots of false horizons and such, so if you go too far off the road you can see those from odd angles. And find the Beatles ;)
