Fast, Cheap, Reliable. Choose any 2.
Beat it to fit, paint it to match..
1 in 4 people in the world are mentally unbalanced.
Look closely at 3 of your closest friends. If they seem OK it's probably you.

I used to drive GPL 10 or 12 years ago on Vroc in 10 laps recreational races ( Monza drama !!! ) .
Now I have a new computer and GPL on line is possible again :-)
I'm a single male 58 yo . I live in Normandy France . My name is François Callat.
I saw GP France 1968 and Italy 1982 .
I loved the GroupC and imsa era during the 80's .
Since 90's , pro racing is boring me . Now I prefer amateur races like the SCCA runoffs for exemple.
I have a website with my videos during GroupC era . http://hoslotfrance.free.fr
I'm also in slot racing HO scale ( Afx , Tyco , Aurora ) . My nickname is Tomy AFX ;-)
Alternate hobby is music , playing drums in rockband and listening classical music ( I'm a hifi equipment geek !!! )
As beginner , I drive the BRM but my goal is to earn some coins to buy a Cooper .
Best wishes to all Francois

I also collect HiFi gear. Mostly what ever I can find locally 60's through the early 80's. Not as much as I want but more than I need.

I've seen you on track lately driving the other BRM.
I used to HO slot car race at my friend's place when I was a kid. We converted Hotwheels bodies and made our own paper glue shells on foam bucks to attach to de-magged Tyco chassis. Somewhere along the way my father got a couple of Strombecker sets from a customer who didn't pay up for work we did. I took those sets and some of my dad's spare COX parts from the 50's-60s and got into making de-magged 1/32 scale cars out of balsa and proprietary papershell technology. Somewhere at my parent's place I still have a McLaren F1 longtail and Hill's TWR-Yamaha since he was my favourite driver at the time. There was a decade of karting before I ran out of money/patience for rich kids and returned to 1/32 scale wood track racing. Since slot cars are fairly niche you may have heard of our leader, Luf Linkert. He sort of single handedly resurrected the wood track scene in North America. I had to stop around 2006 or 7 because my work was making it impossible to drive for more than a lap or two without my wrist blowing up. At that time there were close to twenty wood tracks in the metro Vancouver area. We had two fully detailed Targas, a hill cimb and countless other tracks. I haven't done it for more than tens years now but I miss the competitiveness of the scene. Probably why I'm back racing GPL. I now have the machine shop I always wanted back then but no way to properly drive my creations... I guess that's what getting old is all about. Win some lose some.
See you out there,
